Donkey Kong has escaped from the circus. He is on the lam, and Mario and Pauline are chasing the ape. As with the original game, Donkey Kong will often grab Pauline and Mario has to save her. Plots typically centered on them encountering crime with the villains conning the slow-witted Donkey Kong into doing their work and Mario and Pauline exposing the truth. After Mario and Pauline reveal the truth to Donkey Kong, the three of them team up to stop the antagonists' plans followed by Donkey Kong evading Mario and Pauline again. Part of CBS "Saturday Supercade".

Taking place on Kongo Bongo Island, the show focuses on Donkey Kong, the island's resident hero. Before the series' events, he was chosen as the island's future ruler by a magical artifact known as the Crystal Coconut, which is connected to a spirit known as Inka Dinka Doo. In the present, Donkey Kong must prove he deserves the role through his heroics and by simply guarding the coconut.Alongside various allies such as his best friend and sidekick Diddy Kong and his mentor Cranky Kong, he must protect the Crystal Coconut from various threats, most notably the villainous King K. Rool and his Kremling army who long to steal it in order to rule Kongo Bongo. Oftentimes, Donkey Kong has to juggle his guardian duties with his social life, his relationship with Candy Kong, and his love of gorging on bananas.

King K. Rool tasks Polly Roger with stealing the Crystal Coconut. Polly leads Donkey Kong and Diddy into the Ancient Temple Ruins where Donkey Kong angers a sleeping idol.

After receiving an emergency call, a struggling actor has to face his family during his lowest moment.

It tells the story of a young man who was turned into a donkey by curiosity and a fatal mistake. While the hero despairs and does not know how to return to human form, we can observe through his eyes the society that surrounds him. The television fairy tale of screenwriter Jiří Bednář and director František Filip alternates dramatic tension with comic moments.
